Colors as a Statement in Floral Expression
I have always appreciated pure white. In home furnishings, textiles, fashion, and floral arrangements. You can never go wrong with pure white.
After my most recent trip to Paris; however, I was extremely inspired by the striking color of the floral statement pieces seen in the Four Seasons, created by the visionary floral art and designer, Jeff Leatham.
Jeff Leatham is the art director for the Four Seasons George V. Hotel in Paris. He brings the hotel to life with his floral art work, full of carefully thought out arrangements of color, structure, and expression. It was amazing to see the harmony between shades of the same color creating a balance. He uses monochromatic color as a statement, creating striking sculptural forms. The colors exuded romance by nonchalantly placing color to become the focal point.
The use of color in floral expressions as opposed to simple, elegant all white arrangements, was inspiring. It is about getting outside of your box and creating expressions with color in many different ways, in florals or in home design. It’s exciting to challenge myself and my clients to experiment with incorporating unexpected color.
